We build the systems that run the business
Byno is a software studio. We do not sell licences and disappear — we build the system, deploy it, and keep it running.
Why we started
We kept meeting the same situation: a business had outgrown its tools, but not to the point where a fully custom build made sense. Spreadsheets, chat groups and one person's memory were holding everything together.
Buying a foreign platform rarely fixed it. Those products assume card payments, English-only interfaces and workflows that rarely match how business is actually done in this region.
So we built the systems ourselves, shipped them, and now adapt them per customer. Five of them so far. Starting from something that already runs removes most of the risk of a from-scratch project.
How we work
Ship, then improve
You get a working system you can use immediately, then we refine it against real usage — not a six-month specification.
Local by default
Local languages, local invoicing requirements and local support hours are the starting point, not a paid add-on.
Say what we can actually do
If a requirement is out of scope, we say so before you sign, not three sprints in.
How we build
The technical decisions that decide whether a system survives its second year.
Boring, supportable technology
We choose stacks that other developers can pick up and that will still be maintained in five years, over whatever is currently fashionable.
Data you can get out
Every system we deliver can export its data. Lock-in is a business model we deliberately do not use.
Local requirements first
Tax invoicing, local languages and the workflows your staff actually use are treated as base requirements, not custom extras.
Staged delivery
Something usable early, then refinement against real usage. A six-month specification followed by a big reveal is how projects fail.
The team
A small, senior team. You deal directly with the people who build the system.
Engineering lead
Platform & integrations
Owns the core platform and third-party integrations, including logistics, accounting and messaging providers.
Product & delivery
Requirements & rollout
Turns your workflow into a scoped build, then runs the rollout and training.
Client support
Day-to-day operations
First point of contact after go-live, working in English, Malay and Chinese.
Design
Interface & usability
Designs the operator-facing screens that staff use all day.
